Making God All in All in Your Prayers and Supplications: The Key to Answered Prayer
73Prayers that constantly go unanswered can lead to hopelessness and despair. Millions of believers wonder why their prayers haven't been answered after they have cried their heart out to God year after year. They find themselves in the same state of stagnation and personal destruction. The financial situation has worsened, the marriage has soured, children have become disrespectful, friends have deserted them and sickness seems to be a constant companion, leaving many believers questioning whether or not praying to God is worthwhile. Well, the answer to this question is a surefire Yes! Pray does work. God is always answering prayer. However, the key to answered pray involves making God All in All in every prayer request we make unto Him. Instead of giving up on God, we must give up on ourselves as well as others. The act of giving up will require a number of paradigm shifts.
People As Instruments
In order to make God All in All our prayer request, we must view people as instruments of God's love, favor, promotion, good judgment and all other good things we want from God. The problem of unanswered prayer begins when we see man as capable of giving love, judgment, favor and promotion. However, people are incapable of giving us any of these things. These things belong to God , so they can only come from God. People are just instruments, all people, including ourselves. For instance, when we open our eyes in the morning, God has spoken. When we go to our jobs in the morning and return home in the evening, God has spoken. We can not reach down and tie our shoelaces unless God gives us the thoughts to do so.
Favor Belongs To God
God's favor is all around us and He is in control of it. His favor does not belong to the bank down the street where you applied for a loan. God favor does not belong to the manager who you have asked for a raise. God favor doesn't belong to educational committee must make an acceptance decision on your behalf. Oh no! Favor belongs to God and God along. Therefore, we a believer makes a pray request he must ask God for favor along. I had to find this out the hard way. Usually, when I prayed I would ask God to give me favor with such and such person, expecting that person to have the power and authority to make a decision on my behalf. However, when the person didn't live up to the expectation I had of them, I became frustrated or disappointed. But after I learned my lesson, I begin to make my request to God, knowing that God is the source of all favor and man is only the instrument which God uses to pour out His good upon us. As a result, the fear and doubt left and my request were met one way or another. I was never left discontented about any request. What we ask for me not always manifest in the form we envision it to manifest, but the answer to our request manifested nevertheless.
God, the Only Power Source
When we acknowledge God as all in all in any situation, we elevate the glory of God above every seeming power separate and apart from Him. God's glory allows no other power to be a power. Only God is the power source. According to biblical scripture, God is omnipotent,(all powerful) omniscient(all knowing) and omnipresent(present everywhere). These three things makes God all in all in any situation, condition or circumstances that can be confronted upon the earth. If God is all in all, there is nothing for the believer to fear or doubt when making prayer requests. He knows that if he diligently prayers, that his request can not go unanswered. Acknowledging God as all in all means that we must not think in teams of me and God or them and God. Instead, we must think of God only, in the name of Jesus Christ. Christ is the wisdom and power of God enthroned in man. When the Lord Jesus walked the earth, he displayed the wisdom and power of God only , not any wisdom and power of his own. He made God all in all in every situation.
Image of God in People
When we can acknowledge our oneness with the image of God in man, as Jesus Christ did, we have come a long way in making God all in all. In other words, when we can see the image of God in every person we encounter, we are close to making God all in all. This means that God is increasing in us while the little āiā in us is decreasing. We are gradually becoming no more while Christ is becoming everything within us. Seeing God in others helps us to see them as only instruments of God's grace, favor, judgment and promotion. To see God in man, we must consider a person's spirit and acknowledge how God created man perfect and upright in the beginning. If we refuse to recognize people in their falling nature, we can see God operating through them. Therefore, whatever good work is being performed toward you, God is performing it through them, an idea that must constantly be remembered whenever we are dealing with people. This paradigm shift of seeing man as instruments erases all fear being rejected, disappointed and angered because man has not met our expectation. But when we see God as the source of all our request and answers, we are seldom left in doubt of how God has spoken.
God , Trust & Idolatry
Moreover, trusting in the responses of man for the fulfillment of our prayer requests will only give Satan an opportunity to hinder our requests. This happens because our point of expectation becomes a form of idolatry. Trusting in people, conditions or circumstances outside of God is idolatry and will usually end up in despair and destruction. According to biblical scripture, to trust in man for answered prayer is equivalent to a curse. Therefore, when we have made our prayer request, we must focus all our attention on God's response. We must fight the temptation of wondering whether on not the board, the committee or the bank going to rule in our favor. Only God can do this. Favor belongs to God. Only God is All in All.
